New install won't load past splash screen - young_gun - 11-19-2023

Trying to install V16 of OAP.  It won't load past the splash screen. It gets to Openauto Pro screen and enters endless spinning circle.

I've tried 3 separate SD cards.  All will boot Buster.  I tried booting with all USB devices unplugged.

I tried booting without the screen being plugged in but it was able to connect with SSH via wifi.

I did manage to boot a free version of Openauto.

I'm currently downloading another copy of the image to see if that fixes the problems.

Check with new download of OAP. Do you have any specific setting that need to be done for your setup (e.g. screen ) ?

When I tested a Bullseye install for validating my setup I had to use these screen commands

uncomment
$ hdmi_force_hotplug=1
uncomment
$hdmi_group=2
$hdmi_mode=16

When testing with Buster yesterday everything booted ok without them.

I'll try the new download of OAP first. When I tried booting last night without the screen installed it still would not boot to the point that I could get to the SSH

Fresh download and install of OAP also didn't work. Attempted to load HDMI in safe mode, there was no change. Attempted to load with no screen connected, also no change.

"Well heck - just using Etcher instead of the RPi tool fixed it, thanks for the tip!"

@BlueWave - put this in big flashing letters everywhere!!!! Just spent two days trying to fix this, and it just turns out the raspberryPi flashing tool doesn't work with this. Use Etcher!!
