MAC address of the elm327 - dougputt - 02-19-2021

finally got the obdII elm327 module paired to raspberry.
After watching the youtube video (not very clear) I was able to log into the .ini file and access the obd but my mac address doesn't look like what you have.  It shows dev-00-00-00-00-00-01

Frustrated.

thats great but doesn't really help...When I bring up the bluetooth connections on the pi desktop, it shows OBD2...when I select that it gives me dev_00-00-00-00-00-01.

is that what I enter in for a mac address?  Because it doesn't really look like what you get .

RE: MAC address of the elm327 - BlueWave - 02-19-2021

The MAC address is probably 00:00:00:00:00:01. Please follow instructions from this thread https://bluewavestudio.io/community/showthread.php?tid=2045 in order to put it to the config file and connect to OBD-II dongle.

If OBD-II connection will not work with mentioned MAC address, please contact manufacturer of your dongle for instructions how to obtain MAC address of it.

Okay, so I used hcitool scan and confirmed the mac address was 00:00:00:00:00:01.

I entered that in the ini file and changed the obd device to =2

I rebooted after saving and still not getting it to show up on the dashboard.  It does  not show connected in the upper screen as well.  I've ordered the vgate obd2 but do you have any other suggestions?

We use the Vgate dongles in our reference setup. Did you pair with your OBD-II dongle first? Please try to reproduce the issue and provide /home/pi/.openauto/cache/openauto.log file (please do not restart PI or quit OpenAuto Pro before you grab the logs).
